This is the name of the retreat center in which I will hold the Foundational Visionary craniosacral work® class as developed by Hugh Milne in Ireland this coming July. More accurately the retreat center in County Wicklow is called Slí na Bandé, which translates as the ‘Tao’ or ‘Way’ of the Goddess.
Gaelic, an ancient language, is one of only two present day European languages (the other Basque) that does not derive from Sanskrit. Ancient in form yet Slí na Bandé speaks of a philosophy of healing that is being rediscovered and is in the forefront of our western healthcare as we consider our best way in approaching persistent pain and trauma.
Practices of somatic awareness, autonomic nervous system regulation, neural rewiring, neuro plasticity, movement variability techniques, breathing coherence all encapsulate a philosophy of bringing connected awareness to the internal processes of inner body sensation.
The pattern that emerges here is that recovery is in some way associated with individuals becoming more and more connected to their own sensations , their own body, and realizing their own innate healing potential.

As I contemplate the cosmology of craniosacral work as I have come to learn and understand it. I welcome this ‘Tao’ as the home to supporting students embodiment of deep learning of this modality.
I will teach a residential training in Ireland at Sli Na Bande retreat center. The center will be cater for students needs of accommodation and locally sourced organic meals allowing for the main emphasis of learning the deep intricacies of Craniosacral work.
